ܘܗܘܐ ܕܟܕ ܝܬܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܢܬܢ ܢܒܝܐ ܚܙܝ ܕܐܢܐ ܝ̇ܬܒ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܕܡܛܠܠ ܒܩܪ̈ܝܬܐ ܕܐܪܙܐ ܘܩܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܫܪܝܐ ܒܓܘ ܡܫܟܢܐ ܕܣܥܪܐ

When David was living in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet, “Behold, I live in a cedar house, but the ark of Yahweh’s covenant is in a tent.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܢܬܢ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܟܠ ܡܐ ܕܒܠܒܟ ܙܠ ܘܥܒܕ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܡܟ

Nathan said to David, “Do all that is in your heart; for God is with you.”

ܘܗܘܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܘܡܠܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܥܠ ܢܬܢ ܢܒܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ

That same night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

ܙܠ ܘܗܟܢܐ ܬܐܡܪ ܠܥܒ̣ܕܝ ܕܘܝܕ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܐ ܬܒܢܐ ܠܝ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܡܬܒ ܒܗ

“Go and tell David my servant, ‘Yahweh says, “You shall not build me a house to dwell in;

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܝܬܒܬ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܣܩܬ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ ܘܗܘܝܬ ܡܫܢܐ ܡܢ ܡܫܟܢܐ ܠܡܫܟܢܐ

for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tent to another.

ܗܐ ܟܡܐ ܕܡܗܠܟ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܠܡܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܚܕ ܡܢ ܕ̇ܝ̈ܢܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܦܩܕܬ ܠܡܕܢ ܠܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܠܡܢܐ ܠܐ ܒܢܝܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܒܝܬܐ ܕܡܛܠܠ ܒܐܪ̈ܙܐ

In all places in which I have walked with all Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people, saying, ‘Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’”’

ܐܦ ܗܫܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܬܐܡܪ ܠܥܒ̣ܕܝ ܕܘܝܕ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܒܪܬܟ ܡܢ ܕܝܪܐ ܡܢ ܒܣܬܪ ܥܢܐ ܠܡܗܘܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܥܠ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܡܝ

“Now therefore, you shall tell my servant David, ‘Yahweh of Armies says, “I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people Israel.

ܘܗܘܝܬ ܥܡܟ ܒܟܠ ܐܬܪ ܕܐܙܠܬ ܘܐܘܒܕܬ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܥܠܕ̈ܒܒܝܟ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܘܥܒܕܬ ܠܟ ܫܡܐ ܪܒܐ ܐܝܟ ܫܡܐ ܕܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܐܪܥܐ
whwyth emk bkl 'thr d'zlth w'wbdth lklhwn beldbbyk mn qdmyk webdth lk shm' rb' 'yk shm' drwrbn' d'yth b're'
I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a name like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.

ܘܐܨܘܒ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܠܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܫܪܝܘܗܝ ܘܢܬܒ ܒܕܘܟܬܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܙܘܥ ܬܘܒ ܘܠܐ ܢܘܣܦܘܢ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܠܡܓܠܝܘܬܗ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܩܕܡܝܬܐ
w'tswb dwkth' lemy 'ysryl w'shrywhy wnthb bdwkthh wl' nzwe thwb wl' nwspwn bny ewl' lmglywthh 'yk dbqdmyth'
I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more. The children of wickedness will not waste them any more, as at the first,

ܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܥܒܕܬܟ ܕܝ̇ܢܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܢܝܚܬ ܠܟ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܥ̈ܠܕܒܒܝܟ ܘܚܘܝܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܩܝܡܐ ܗܝ ܠܟ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ
mn ywm' debdthk dyn' el emy 'ysryl w'nykhth lk mn klhwn beldbbyk wkhwyk mry' dmlkwth' qym' hy lk edm' lelm
and from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. I will subdue all your enemies. Moreover I tell you that Yahweh will build you a house.

ܘܟܕ ܢܫܠܡܘܢ ܝܘ̈ܡܝ ܚܝ̈ܝܟ ܘܬܐܙܠ ܘܬܬܟܢܫ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܗ̈ܝܟ ܐܩܝܡ ܙܪܥܟ ܡܢ ܒܬܪܟ ܕܢ̇ܦܩ ܡܢ ܚܨܟ ܘܐܬܩܢܝܗ̇ ܠܡܠܟܘܬܗ

It will happen, when your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your offspring after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

ܘܗܘ ܢܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܝ ܘܐܬܩܢ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܠܥܠܡ
whw nbn' byth' lshmy w'thqn kwrsy' dmlkwthh lelm
He will build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.

ܐܢܐ ܐܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܐܒܐ ܘܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܠܒܪܐ ܘܛܝܒ̈ܘܬܝ ܠܐ ܢܥܒܪ̈ܢ ܡܢ ܠܘܬܗ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܥܒܪܬ ܡܢ ܫܐܘܠ ܕܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ
'n' 'hw' lh l'b' whw nhw' ly lbr' wTybwthy l' nebrn mn lwthh 'yk d'ebrth mn sh'wl dhw' mn qdmyk
I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will not take my loving kindness away from him, as I took it from him who was before you;

ܘܐܫܠܛܝܘܗܝ ܒܒܝܬܝ ܘܒܡܠܟܘܬܝ ܠܥܠܡ ܥܠܡܝܢ ܘܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܢܗܘܐ ܡܛܝܒ ܠܗ ܠܥܠܡ
w'shlTywhy bbythy wbmlkwthy lelm elmyn wkwrsy' dmlkwthh nhw' mTyb lh lelm
but I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom forever. His throne will be established forever.”’”

ܥܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܦܬܓ̈ܡܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܘܥܠ ܟܠܗ ܚܙܘܐ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܡܠܠ ܢܬܢ ܢܒܝܐ ܥܡ ܕܘܝܕ

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

ܘܐܬܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܘܝܬܒ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܢܐ ܚܫܝܒ ܐܢܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܘܡ̇ܢܘ ܒܝܬܝ ܕܡܛܝܬܢܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܗܪܟܐ

Then David the king went in and sat before Yahweh; and he said, “Who am I, Yahweh God, and what is my house, that you have brought me this far?

ܘܙܥܘܪܝܐ ܗܝ ܗܕܐ ܒܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܕܡܠܠܬ ܥܠ ܒܝܬܗ ܕܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܡܢ ܠܩܘܕܡܝܢ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܝ̈ܢܫܐ ܕܥ̇ܒܕܝܢ ܕܚܠܬܟ ܒܟܠܗ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܡܦܩ ܐܢܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܚܫܘܟܐ ܠܢܗܝܪܐ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
wzewry' hy hd' beynyk mr' mrwth' dmllth el bythh debdk mn lqwdmyn wklhwn bnynsh' debdyn dkhlthk bklh lbhwn mpq 'nth lhwn mn khshwk' lnhyr' mr' mrwth'
This was a small thing in your eyes, O God, but you have spoken of your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have respected me according to the standard of a man of high degree, Yahweh God.

ܘܡܢܐ ܢܫܬܒܗܪ ܬܘܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܠܡܡܠܠܘ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܠܟ ܓܠܝܢ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܕܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
wmn' nshthbhr thwb dwyd ebdk lmmllw qdmyk lk glyn ebdwhy debdk mr' mrwth'
What can David say yet more to you concerning the honor which is done to your servant? For you know your servant.

ܡܛܠ ܕܝܕ̇ܥ ܐܢܬ ܡܢܐ ܐܝܬ ܒܠܒܗ ܕܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܥܒܕܬ ܠܗ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܬܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܠܡܘܕܥܘ ܠܥܒ̣ܕܟ

Yahweh, for your servant’s sake, and according to your own heart, you have done all this greatness, to make known all these great things.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܝܕܥܬ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܝܬ ܐܟܘܬܟ ܘܠܝܬ ܐܠܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܐܢܬ ܐܝܟ ܟܠ ܡܐ ܕܫܡܥܢ ܒܐ̈ܕܢܝܢ
mTl hn' ydeth mr' mrwth' mTl dlyth 'kwthk wlyth 'lh 'l' 'n 'nth 'yk kl m' dshmen b'dnyn
Yahweh, there is no one like you, neither is there any God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

ܘܡ̇ܢܘ ܐܝܬ ܐܝܟ ܥܡܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܡܐ ܚܕ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܬܓܠܝܬ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܦܪܩܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܡܛܠܬܗܘܢ ܥܒܕܬ ܢܣ̈ܝܘܢܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܐ ܘܕ̈ܚܝܠܐ ܘܡܚ̈ܘܬܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܬܐ ܥܠ ܡܨܪ̈ܝܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܝܟܐ ܕܐܦܩܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ

What one nation in the earth is like your people Israel, whom God went to redeem to himself for a people, to make you a name by great and awesome things, in driving out nations from before your people whom you redeemed out of Egypt?

ܘܐܬܩܢܬ ܠܟ ܠܥܡܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܡܗܘܐ ܠܟ ܥܡܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܥܠܡܝܢ ܘܐܢܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ

For you made your people Israel your own people forever; and you, Yahweh, became their God.

ܡܟܝܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܥܠ ܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܘܥܠ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܒܝܬܗ ܩܝܡ ܠܥܠܡ ܘܥܒܕ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܡܪܬ

Now, Yahweh, let the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, be established forever, and do as you have spoken.

ܘܢܫܬܪܪܘܢ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܝܟ ܠܥܠܡ ܘܢܫܬܒܚ ܫܡܟ ܒܓܘ ܥܠܡܐ ܘܢܗܘܘܢ ܐ̇ܡܪܝܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܒܝܬܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܢܗܘܐ ܡܬܩܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܠܥܠܡ
wnshthrrwn ebdyk lelm wnshthbkh shmk bgw elm' wnhwwn 'mryn mry' khylthn' mr' mrwth' 'lh' d'ysryl wbythh ddwyd ebdk nhw' mthqn qdmyk lelm
Let your name be established and magnified forever, saying, ‘Yahweh of Armies is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel. The house of David your servant is established before you.’

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢܬ ܐܠܗܝ ܓܠܝܬ ܪܐܙܐ ܠܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܗ ܕܒܝܬܐ ܒܢܝ ܠܝ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܣܕܪ ܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܒܠܒܗ ܠܡܨܠܝܘ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܨܠܘܬܐ ܗܕܐ

For you, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build him a house. Therefore your servant has found courage to pray before you.

ܡܟܝܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܐܠܗܝ ܘܟܠ ܡ̈ܠܝܟ ܬܪ̈ܝܨܬܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܠܠܬ ܠܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܛܒ̈ܬܐ ܐܢ̈ܝܢ

Now, Yahweh, you are God, and have promised this good thing to your servant.

ܘܡܟܝܠ ܐܬܓܠܝ ܠܡܒܪܟܘ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܠܥܠܡ ܥܠܡܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܡܠܠܬ ܘܡܢ ܒܘܪܟܬܟ ܡܬܒܪܟܝܢ ܒܬܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܕܙܕܝ̈ܩܐ ܠܥܠܡ
wmkyl 'thgly lmbrkw lbythh debdk dnhw' qdmyk lelm elmyn mTl d'nth hw mry' mr' mrwth' mllth wmn bwrkthk mthbrkyn bthyhwn dzdyq' lelm
Now it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you; for you, Yahweh, have blessed, and it is blessed forever.”
